Additional Requirements: The position requires more than 50% travel and is eligible for a company car. The preferred location is in the Toronto area.

Purpose of the Role

The Specialty Sales Representative is a subject matter expert, promotes and sells specialized products from their assigned portfolio to Medical Specialists within their assigned territory. Reporting to the Senior Manager, B2B Sales, this role on behalf of LifeLabs will develop relationships with Specialists with the goal of maximizing the sale of LifeLabs’ tests within their assigned territory. S/he will also utilize their in-depth knowledge of their products to support Account Representatives and cross-functional team members by being the subject matter expert on our product offerings. The role will act as clinical support in client meetings where a more in-depth knowledge of our products is required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for identifying, prospecting, and securing business opportunities to support new revenue growth for specific territory through development of portfolio and client business plans
  • Ensure compliance with sales automation platforms (SalesForce, segmentation tools, sales reports & dashboards), completion of mandatory training and goal setting
  • Define and measure leading and lagging KPIs to ensure clear accountability and the achievement of sales targets
  • Attend specific trade shows and conferences on behalf of LifeLabs, when required
  • Organize product presentations and other promotional activities in diverse medical settings to a variety of medical audiences
  • Owns providing timely feedback to underperforming clients and early warning of risk to achieving quotas
  • Accountable for territory budgets
  • Work closely with the team to strategize and build pipelines of quality
  • Participate in regular meetings with Sales Manager to review/coordinate sales efforts and build a territory business plan
  • Will participate in promotional activities (product presentations, trade shows and conferences)
  • Ensure LifeLabs brand promise is delivered to the client
  • Ensures that the Voice of Customer (VOC) is brought to our Portfolio Lifecycle Management and Product Development teams in a timely manner with accurate information to inform our decisions and manages reputational risk
  • Identify opportunities with prospective clients. Build and maintain strong client relationships with client base
  • Leverage existing client relationships to expand service offerings in named accounts
  • Develop an understanding of all services and offerings and create product presentations as required
  • Report product sales and promotional activities to the Company on an ongoing basis
  • Utilize LifeLabs Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and other productivity tools to plan sales calls, record client interactions and capture new business
  • Respond to client enquiries, concerns and messages in a timely manner
  • Identify Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and develop/maintain long-term relationships within the healthcare community
  • Respond to client enquiries, concerns and messages in a timely manner
  • Facilitate feedback from clients, forwarding to the Company to support new test development and expand service offerings

 

What you bring to the role: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Sciences or a related field of study
  • Advanced Degree or Certification in Life Sciences or Healthcare is preferred Network in Neurology Community
  • 3-5 years of sales or field experience within medical settings and/or specialists within memory clinics or comparable experience working as a Medical Sales Representative in the Canadian medical system.
  • Existing relationships or connections within the neurology field considered an asset
  • Strong track record within a direct sales or field-based role
  • Knowledge of traditional and emerging medical technologies
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Proficient critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Self-starter with initiative and ability to work autonomously in a field-based role
  • Excellent facilitation to influence decision-making
  • Effective in both a team and independent setting
