About The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Litigation Legal Assistant to support two lawyers in the commercial and civil litigation group of our client. The files are sophisticated and varied, and the role requires someone confident in handling large litigation files with minimal supervision.

About The Position

  • Drafting and organising legal documents, including court pleadings, motion records, and trial books.
  • Managing schedules, meetings, deadlines, and court timelines.
  • Maintaining and organising client files, both physical and electronic.
  • Handling correspondence, filing documents with courts, and coordinating service.
  • Assisting with docketing and billing using internal systems.
  • Utilising PDF software (Adobe, Kofax) to prepare, assemble, and bookmark legal documents.
  • General administrative and legal assistant duties to support litigation workflows.

The Requirements

  • Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma from a recognised Canadian institution.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Ontario civil and commercial litigation.
  • Knowledge of Ontario court rules, court filing procedures, and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), PDF tools (Kofax/Adobe), DocuSign, and litigation software.
  • Experience using docketing and billing tools (e.g., Carpe Diem, BQ).
  • Familiarity with platforms such as CaseLines and TerraView.

Compensation

  • Salary: $65,000-$70,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Vacation: 3 weeks vacation + 10 personal days annually.
