Our client is a risk management firm providing outsourced insurance and risk management services to Canadian lending institutions and North America’s leading development companies. As their client base grows, they’re looking for a seasoned Bilingual (EN/FR) Insurance Consultant to serve as a trusted advisor - reviewing, critiquing, and structuring insurance programs on behalf of clients across commercial lending and real estate development.

Compensation

  • $70,000 to $100,000 + commission

Benefits & Perks

  • Performance based commission bonus tied to company results
  • Extended health and dental coverage
  • Paid time off
  • Remote work within Canada

Responsibilities

  • Review and critique existing client insurance programs, identify gaps or exposures, and present findings clearly to senior management and clients
  • Assist clients with insurance applications and the development of underwriting submissions for commercial properties, loans, and development projects
  • Review and negotiate contracts on behalf of clients, including leases, construction contracts, and other material agreements
  • Analyze clients’ Total Cost of Risk by building spreadsheets and tracking tools that illustrate historical cost trends and findings
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, supporting their ongoing risk management processes and strategy
  • Advise clients on claims-related issues and claims management best practices
  • Liaise between clients, insurance brokers, lenders, and internal management as needed
  • Manage assigned projects on a case-by-case basis across both commercial and personal lines accounts

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial insurance (broker, underwriter, marketer, or risk management backgrounds all considered)
  • Bilingual fluency in French and English Required
  • Broad familiarity with general commercial lines; exposure to surety and bonding is a strong asset
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze risk, review complex contracts, and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • RIBO or other provincial licensing, CRM designation would be nice to have
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing client relationships without close supervision
