Workday – US Payroll Modernization

Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of Workday Payroll solutions tailored to US payroll modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Workday configurations and integrations.
• Develop and maintain Workday integrations using EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio and other tools.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll regulations and internal audit requirements.
• Conduct system testing, validation and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy and process integrity.
• Provide technical support and guidance during payroll cycles, audits and year-end processing.
• Monitor Workday releases and recommend enhancements or optimizations based on new features.
• Document technical specifications, configuration changes, and integration designs.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, HRIS, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a Workday Developer with a focus on Payroll (US).
• Proven experience with Workday Payroll configuration, integrations and reporting.
• Strong understanding of US payroll laws, tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors and Workday Report Writer.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have:
• Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
• Workday certification in Payroll or Integrations.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience with ServiceNow, particularly in HR case management or ITSM integrations.
