The role will focus on broad initiatives and analytics pertaining to the profitability of the block as a whole, providing exposure to the full suite of benefits offered within SL Health.

This position plays a critical role in supporting the business specifically through ownership of case escalations for client-specific proposals that require pricing signoff, case pricing support and risk assessments, and cross-functional collaboration with Underwriting, Product, and Business Development teams. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of independence, owning the majority of escalations end-to-end while partnering with their leader and subject matter experts on highly complex or large-scale cases.

What will you do?

  • Lead and manage case escalations across quotes, marketing, and renewals, ensuring timely, high-quality pricing support.

  • Ensure pricing decisions are well-documented, clearly communicated, and aligned with established guidelines and risk appetite.

  • Respond to ad-hoc pricing and risk requests across all Group Benefits products, partnering closely with Underwriting and Product teams.

  • Independently assess the risk and financial viability of the majority of escalated cases, escalating to the Director as appropriate for particularly complex or large cases.

  • Liaise with Underwriting and Business Development to fully understand requests, business context, and key risk considerations.

  • Provide project support and contribute to special initiatives as required, including potential involvement in market segment review preparation.

  • Leverage technology, data tools, and emerging AI-enabled solutions to improve process efficiency, consistency, and turnaround time for escalations and ad‑hoc pricing requests; identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance decision support.

What do you need to succeed?

  • At least 4 years of experience in Group Benefits

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Actuarial Science or related field is required

  • Background in Group Benefits underwriting is an asset

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Outstanding ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and sound judgment.

  • Proficient with technology and analytical tools, including effective use of AI-enabled tools to enhance analysis, documentation, and process efficiency.

What's in it for you?

  • The opportunity to move along a variety of career paths with amazing networking potential

  • Flexible Benefits from the day you join to meet the needs of you and your family

  • We’re committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment. Our goal is to make sure all our employees have the chance to live up to their full potential
