Your Opportunity
Our Human Resources team is looking for a Co-op or Intern Student to join us in September 2025 for an 8-month work term. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable, practical experience and work in various areas of Human Resources. Students can be placed in either the HR Operations and Talent Acquisition stream or the Learning, Organizational Development and Leadership Development stream. Opportunities are also provided to students to participate in workshops with Data Analytics, Field HR, Compensation, and Benefits Teams.
Note: There will be a requirement to be available to attend some on-site events, with an opportunity to work both remotely and from a BDO office anywhere in Canada.
HR Operations and Talent Acquisition Stream
HR Services Team
- Drafting various employee lifecycle letters including promotion letters, full-time equivalent (FTE) changes, and transfer letters
- Completing ad hoc background screen checks for external employees
- Answer general employee questions on BDO HR policies/procedures and employee benefits
- Facilitate and schedule company-wide orientation for new employees
- Complete forms for short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability (LTD) claims for employees
Talent Acquisition
- Primarily supporting the campus recruitment team with the opportunity to job shadow an experienced recruitment team member
- Preparing materials and attending on site campus recruiting events
- Pre-screening candidates for roles and scheduling interviews
- Creation and posting of job requisitions to the Workday Applicant Tracking system
- Conduct research on recruiting trends and present findings
Learning, Leadership, and Organizational Development Stream
Learning
- Program administration including schedule management and preparation of materials and project coordination
- Creation and maintenance of project reporting including data analytics and performance module configuration
Leadership Development
- Updating materials, FAQs, and producing webinar materials
- Communicate with stakeholders on status of projects
- Administration of logistical tasks including participant tracking and management reporting
- Preparing documentation to summarize survey responses during the program cycle .
Organizational Development
- Project and Stakeholder management
- Producing collateral (decks, FAQ’s, etc.)
- Reviewing communications, project plans, support materials
- Helping to set up the engagement survey in the platform
- Administrative tasks

Your experience & education
- You are currently working towards or are a recent graduate from a degree/diploma in Human Resources
- Availability to work full-time for an 8-month co-op term or internship
- You have a desire to provide outstanding client service and a commitment to teamwork
- You have strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
- You are able to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
- You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills
