The salary range for this position is $126,500- $168,600 . The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

What the day will look like
- Lead, coach, and support a team of Marine brokers, setting clear priorities and fostering a collaborative, high‑performing environment.
- Negotiate with underwriters to secure optimal terms, conditions, and competitive pricing for Marine and Logistics clients.
- Collaborate with Account Executives and clients to develop coverage strategies and marketing plans for renewals and new business.
- Analyze client-specific marine and logistics risks, determine coverage needs, and prepare and present marketing proposals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the marine underwriting community and key market partners.
- Participate in client and prospect meetings to understand needs and deliver tailored marine insurance solutions.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of policies and documentation with agreed terms and conditions.
- Process and issue new policies, renewals, and policy changes, including additions, deletions, and cancellations.
- Calculate adjustments and premiums on marine policies and related documents as needed.
- Mentor and guide junior brokers, Associate Brokers, and Broking Coordinators, supporting workflow and professional development.
- Lead by example in following standard processes and best practices across the Marine portfolio.
- Follow up with insurers to confirm that negotiated contract terms are fulfilled.
- Perform other related duties as required.

In this role, you’ll go beyond routine broking by leading a Marine broking team, negotiating directly with underwriters, shaping marine coverage strategies, and building strong client relationships-including face‑to‑face interactions.
You’ll have a hands‑on impact at every stage-from analyzing marine risk and presenting proposals to mentoring junior brokers and ensuring policy accuracy. Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Minimum 5+ years’ shown experience and knowledge in insurance, ideally with Marine and/or Commercial Lines.
- Proven knowledge of, and relationships with, domestic insurance carriers.
- Broker licenses for Maritime provinces (or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and make an impact with clients and insurers, both virtually and in person.
- Marine or commercial insurance background is a major asset.
