We are seeking a Manager, Finance System based out of Markham, ON (Hybrid). Reporting to the Director, Accounting, this role will be overseeing, optimizing and advancing the organization’s accounting and financial systems. The role serves as a key liaison between Finance, IT, supply chain, and external partners to ensure system integrity, scalability and alignment with business objectives. The role requires a blend of accounting knowledge, systems expertise and project management skills to drive successful ERP adoption and ongoing system performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identify new opportunities within the existing financial systems to increase efficiencies and optimize system/ processes to enhance financial operations and controls
- Provide guidance and support on projects requiring financial systems reporting and tracking. Collaborate with business to understand requirements and work with IT to develop such reports by utilizing SQL
- Support the implementation, integration and optimization of new ERP solutions. Partner closely with Accounting, Finance, IT, Supply chain and external vendors to gather and understand requirements, design system solutions and ensure alignment with accounting policies and business processes. Continuously determine how to best leverage the new ERP system
- Configure, maintain, and support financial system functionality, including general ledger and financial reporting.
- Design, test, and maintain system integrations, data flows and interfaces between ERP system and other enterprise applications.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for financial and accounting systems, with a focus on SAP and integrations with upstream and downstream systems
- Other ad-hoc analyses and tasks as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 4+ years of experience supporting financial systems or accounting systems in a corporate environment
- Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting, finance or Information systems
- Experience with ERP integrations, including data mapping, interface design and system testing
- Experience with SAP, Workday (strongly preferred) or large ERP
- Proficiency in system configuration, reporting and troubleshooting within ERP environments
- Utilize SQL and other data-querying tools to extract, analyze, validate and reconcile financial and system data including configuring reports and have advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate business requirements into system solutions
- Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
