The Krembil Brain Institute at University Health Network (UHN), a University of Toronto (U of T) teaching hospital, is seeking applicants for the inaugural Peter Gilgan Chair in Neuroregeneration Research. The successful candidate must already hold, or be eligible for, a full-time clinical or status-only academic appointment within the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, U of T, at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The term of the Chair position is 5 years with the opportunity for one 5-year renewal following a successful review. The position will begin at a mutually agreeable time.
The Peter Gilgan Chair in Neuroregeneration Research will develop and lead research that supports multidisciplinary strategies to promote neuroregeneration in preclinical models with a goal of translating bench research to bedside impact. The role will involve active leadership, nationally and internationally, to advance research strategies for neuroregeneration. The Chairholder will integrate, build and strengthen the Institute’s efforts, and champion collaborative and integrative research to build bridges between the Krembil Brain Institute at UHN, U of T and other TAHSN hospitals. The Chairholder will also collaborate with and leverage the expertise of clinicians and researchers at the Krembil Brain Institute.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive benefits package is being offered along with support for relocation expenses.
