Position Summary
The Allogeneic Blood & Marrow Transplant Coordinator works with the Hans Messner Allogenic BMT Program team & leadership to ensure the effective management, planning and coordination of allogeneic transplant program activities.
Duties
The principal responsibilities include: manage and coordinate referrals for allogeneic blood & marrow transplants, utilizing and applying current specialized knowledge and expertise on recent advances in nursing practice to provide, manage, coordinate and facilitate patient care for patients with complex needs both directly and through consultation; functioning as a consultant in the resolution of complex patient management problems; performing teaching/education responsibility; collaborating with the BMT Quality Management Committee to develop and implement continuous quality improvement activities; participating in academic and research activities/projects; performing administrative responsibilities where indicated; performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested. The main focus of patient care activity is leukemia and specific benign hematological conditions where allogeneic blood & marrow transplant is indicated.
