Assignment:

  • Full-time Journeyman Plumber position
  • Duties to commence July 1, 2025



Requirements:

  • Valid Journeyman Plumber Certification
  • Journeyman gasfitter would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of current plumbing and heating codes and regulations
  • Service experience in the plumbing trade would be considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with co-workers, students, and staff in an educational environment
  • Ability to read blueprints and effectively lay out schematics
  • Provide own set of hand tools
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Able to work well under adverse weather conditions
  • Selected individual must be able to be on their feet for extended periods of time, lift up to 50lbs and able to work in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative, high paced team environment
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance, and repair of all facilities, grounds and equipment under the care of the Facilities Department.
  • Identify areas requiring repairs or maintenance and, if of a minor nature, complete the required repairs or maintenance. If extensive repairs or maintenance is required, advise the Facilities Administration or appropriate co-worker.
  • Recommend to the Facilities Administration procedures that may improve the operation of the Facilities Department.
  • Be familiar with the service requirements of equipment and facilities under the care of the Facilities Department.
  • With the prior approval of Facilities Administration purchase supplies and materials necessary in completing assigned duties.
  • Be aware of safe working procedures and follow safe working procedures and practices in carrying out your assigned duties.
  • Maintain a liaison with other departments and work in cooperation with other departments and employees.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that will promote a positive image of the Facilities Department.
  • Perform other duties as may be directed by Facilities Administration or the direct job supervisor.



Employment Conditions:

  • Normal hours of work are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Forty (40) hour week minimum. This may vary from time to time according to workload.
