Opportunity: OCINet is recruiting for a Technical Consultant with deep expertise in Broadcom VMWare infrastructure-our primary virtualization platform-and strong experience working with additional virtualization environments as required. The successful candidate will also have proven experience integrating HPE Synergy compute platforms and Alletra SAN storage systems.

Reporting to the Manager of Technical Infrastructure, this role is key to supporting and advancing OCINet’s virtualization-driven data centre and IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
Virtualization Environment Infrastructure Management
• Design, configure, and maintain Virtualization Environment, SAN, and vCenter environments, ensuring performance and scalability

• Implement and optimize Broadcom’s Virtualization Environment solutions in alignment with OCINet standards

• Manage Virtualization Environment-based disaster recovery and high availability strategies
• Implement and manage virtual environment transition from VMWare to other virtual platforms

HPE Synergy & Alletra SAN Integration
• Deploy and maintain HPE Synergy composable infrastructure, including firmware, OneView, and lifecycle management

• Configure and administer HPE Alletra SAN arrays, ensuring seamless integration with VMWare, Hyper-v, Proxmox, KVM and Nutanix AHV

• Troubleshoot performance, replication, and storage connectivity issues

Data Centre Operations
• Participate in planning and building next-generation data centre environments

• Monitor and maintain physical/virtual infrastructure across HPE, Virtualization platforms and Cisco ecosystems • Collaborate on migration and expansion projects, ensuring minimal downtime

Technical Support & Optimization
• Provide tier-2/3 technical support for virtualization environment, storage, and compute issues

• Proactively monitor and fine-tune system performance to prevent outages

• Develop and maintain detailed documentation for Virtualization Environment, HPE, and SAN operations

Qualifications Required
• College diploma or undergraduate degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 5+ years of hands-on Virtualization Environment administration (VMware vSphere, vCentre, Hyper-v, SAN etc)

• Proven expertise with Broadcom and Microsofts Virtualization Environment product suite

• Strong background in HPE Synergy composable infrastructure and HPE Alletra SAN solutions

• Experience in data centre operations and hardware lifecycle management
• Experience in Veeam and/or other backup solutions highly preferred • Virtualization Environment certifications (e.g., VCP-DCV) highly preferred

• HPE certifications (ATP, ASE) considered an asset

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in complex IT environments

• Familiarity with healthcare imaging systems (DICOM, PACS) is an asset

• Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to provide on-call support and attend occasional in-person meetings in Ontario
