Student Prosthetic Technician - Sunnybrook Centre for Independent Living/Prosthetics - Temporary full-time 2025-12723

Summary of Duties

Sunnybrook Centre for Independent Living (SCIL) is currently looking for a Student Prosthetic Technician to join our team to provide the highest level of patient care to a diverse and wide range of adult amputees primarily in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).  As a Sunnybrook team member, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package.

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Student Prosthetic Technician will work in conjunction with our Registered Prosthetic Technicians to assist with the manufacturing and/ or repair of prosthetic appliances. They should be familiar with common prosthetic applications and processes as well as knowledgeable in material management.

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

• Assisting the Prosthetic Technicians
• Thermoforming and lamination prosthetic devices
• Repair and service various types of prosthetic devices
• Handling tools and machinery commonly used in the prosthetic field
• Workshop care and maintenance

Qualifications/Skills:

• Prosthetic Technician
• Enrolled in (or recently completed) a recognised Prosthetic Orthotic program
• Demonstrated manual dexterity skills for technical work
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Work safely using appropriate PPE and safe working practices
• Must be able to work efficiently in a team environment
• Ability to effectively problem-solve technical issues
