Program Manager (SRI) - Evaluative Clinical Sciences - Regular Full-time 2026-16484

The successful applicant will oversee the project load of the research team (i.e., research assistants, research coordinators and students) as well as manage research finance activities, human resource management, adhering to study protocols, ethical guidelines, timelines, and oversight of data management of a research program.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Masters with 5 years of relevant experience and 2 years in a leadership role;
  • Experience in overseeing the strategic development and implementation of large research programs and national research studies;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.  The successful candidate will work in both an office environment as well as with physicians, other research staff, students, nurses, allied health professionals, and clerical staff. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a multi disciplinary team;
  • Familiarity with/knowledge of research regulations (ICH-GCP, TCPS2, N2 SOPs, Health Canada Div 5)
  • Financial Management or equivalent experience is an asset.
  • Project Management certification is an asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages, supervises, recruits and evaluates Research Assistants, Coordinators, students, and other staff including ongoing updates of various research guidelines and regulations;
  • Initiate and develop research proposals and protocols, including research contracts in collaboration with Contracts department, and clarifying details/deliverables as needed;
  • Participates in the contract process and negotiates terms of financing with outside parties;
  • Ensure study maintenance including ongoing training, monitoring participant recruitment, follow-up and data integrity including tracking study timelines/milestones for multiple research studies;
  • Develops and fosters team culture, creates an environment that celebrates team member successes, is collaborative, encouraging, and fun;
  • Work closely with a subgroup of investigators within the Program, assisting with initiating their research;
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures and standards relative to all aspects of the research study program;
  • Plans the strategy and project management of the program;
  • Be the primary point-of-contact for study sponsors, CROs, other stakeholders and study team
  • Other duties as required.
