Summary of Duties

Reporting to the Director of the Integrated Surgical Program, the PCM position will be responsible for but not limited to leadership for the Endoscopy, Colposcopy, Cystoscopy, Vascular Access, and the Thromboembolism Program. Responsibilities include leading the team towards a common vision, excellence patient care, and facilitating the achievement of operational and patient focused care objectives. The PCM will create a supportive environment for patients and staff as well as facilitate staff and inter-professional team development. This position will also include leading quality and special projects within the department (i.e. facilitate case costing); managing and analyzing supply budgets; controlling inventory levels: and planning material resources innovation. 

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Health Related Services is required (Masters in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety is  an asset)
  • Current Management Experience in Ambulatory Care Required
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in Nursing
  • Institute of Health care Improvement Certificate (IHI) is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and quality improvement initiatives
  • Current Leadership in Ambulatory Areas Required
  • Proven knowledge and skills with daily patient flow activities
  • Expertise in the planning and management of large capital projects is an asset.
  • Proven organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and demonstrates composure under pressure/ stressful conditions and to meet multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to Patient-Focused Care and proven interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment and collaborates with others in assisting with the delivery of care to patients
  • Has knowledge of applicable legislation affecting human resources (i.e. Human Rights, Employment Standards, Occupational Health & Safety Act)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, set and accomplish goals and objectives in a complex fast paced team environment.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, team building, conflict resolution and decision–making skills
  • Working knowledge of computers (i.e. MS Word, Outlook, etc)
  • Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
