Description
The Dr. Sandra Black Centre for Brain Resilience & Recovery is currently seeking a full-time Junior Research Analyst to join our neuroimaging laboratory within the LC Campbell Cognitive Neurology research unit. Our neuroimaging lab specializes in the development and application of cutting-edge multi-modal brain imaging analyses to study neurovascular and neurodegenerative diseases causing dementia. Under the supervision of Dr. Sandra E. Black, you will report to the Imaging Lab Manager, receive direction from other clinical research staff, and work with the team to produce high quality neuroimaging data.
Your primary responsibility will be to implement an in-house developed brain image analysis technique that is used to acquire biomarkers from our patients’ structural and functional MRI. Additional duties you will be responsible for include: study administration, creating/maintaining study documentation, data cleaning/maintenance and quality control, performing literature review, creating figures/tables for manuscripts, presenting findings to the research community, and training for visiting clinical/postdoctoral fellows and other staff. Although our lab provides a comprehensive training program, after the training period, you will be expected to use your knowledge-base and independent research skills to find creative solutions to trouble-shoot technical issues as they arise. You will support and contribute to a healthy work environment that is strongly committed to inclusion and diversity within our community.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or other related discipline.
- A solid understanding of neuroanatomy.
- A high level of familiarity and comfort with computers, especially with learning new software, programs, and other applications.
- Exceptional attention to visual details.
- Creative problem-solver.
- A high level of organization and time management skills.
- The ability to adapt to rapidly changing schedules and priorities.
- Self-motivated, eager, independent learner.
- Ability to explore and design innovative approaches to addressing novel research questions and techniques.
Any of the following would be considered an asset:
- Experience with academic/clinical research studies.
- Experience with neuroimaging analysis.
- Experience with working in command-line interfaces (eg. Linux: bash).
- Co-authored conference abstracts, presentations, or publications.
We thank you in advance for your interest. Application screening will continue until a suitable candidate is identified. Only candidates we have selected for an interview will be contacted.
To apply, please send a cover letter and resume/CV
