Head & Neck Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, (Bayview Campus has an opportunity for a Front Desk Administrative Assistant at our Bayview Campus.  This is temporary full-time position with the potential to becoming a permanent role.   Job Summary With exceptional communication and customer service skills, the Front Desk Administrative Assistant will be the first point of contact and support to our patients, visitors, clinical care teams and staff.  The individual must be highly organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a passion for patient care.   Duties and Responsibilities: Support the Front Desk operations, patient care, clinical care teams and staff Greet patients and manage patient flow Perform general administrative tasks including, but not limited to, answering and directing phone calls and messages, email correspondence, faxing, scanning documents, registration of new patients into various databases, etc. Coordinate and schedule outpatient appointments, clinics, and diagnostic testing, etc. Triage incoming referrals and if necessary, forward to appropriate personnel for review Order office supplies and maintain stock Provide backup coverage for clinical and administrative support Assume other responsibilities and duties as required     Requirements: Excellent written, and verbal communication skills Strong time management, problem-solving,  and multitasking abilities Exceptional ability to prioritize work in an efficient and organized manner, while effectively managing changing priorities       Ability to work in a fast paced environment with many interruptions Must have impeccable attention to detail skills Superior interpersonal expertise that will allow you to work well with a diverse group of individuals Demonstrated ability to maintain tact and diplomacy while dealing with various stakeholders Ability to maintain and protect patient confidentiality Must demonstrate flexibility and act independently while using sound judgment Capable of working independently and within a collaborative model Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an aptitude to learn new software and systems Working knowledge of EMR software.  Experience with OSCAR would be an advantage. Successful completion a Medical Office Administration program, with a minimum of 1+ years of practical experience in an outpatient hospital setting would be an asset     Please be advised that in order to be eligible for employment at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, all new hires must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of COVID-19 vaccines approved by Health Canada AND have received the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days ago.  Medical exemptions or any other kind of requested exemption based upon the Hospital’s obligations pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
