A part-time animal research technician position is available in the Wang lab, Biological Sciences Platform at Sunnybrook Research Institute, Toronto. Sunnybrook Research Institute is the research enterprise of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. The Wang lab is investigating and developing treatments for brain disorders presenting with neuroimmune pathologies. They specialize in preclinical animal models of depression and multiple sclerosis. The successful applicant will focus on performing animal husbandry, colony management, and performing behavioral evaluations of mice.   Responsibilities Animal husbandry (e.g. weaning, tagging mice) Record keeping Assist in maintaining preclinical models Perform behavioral assessment and data collection Collaborate with lab members on various projects   Qualifications Required Prior experience with mouse handling, tagging, and record keeping Prior experience with small animal behavioral evaluation an asset Experience with EthoVision software an asset Diploma or BSc. in biology or related field Exceptional communication and organizational skills Detail oriented and dependable individual capable of working independently   The expected hourly rate for this position is between $22-26, contingent on prior experience and qualifications.
