The Design System (IDS) is a company-wide design system that accelerates mission by delivering innovative and foundational design system guidelines, tools, and services that support designers and developers across TurboTax, QuickBooks, Mailchimp, Credit Karma, and many other offerings. To help us achieve this, we are seeking a Product Designer to join the AI Experience team focused on providing the foundational design tokens, UI components, and patterns for mobile and web that serve AI-native products. Your opportunity here Demonstrated experience designing products with AI at the core of the user experience Skilled in early-stage, open-ended research including data gathering, sense-making, and defining opportunity spaces in ambiguous problem areas. Contribute to the acceleration of business outcomes across the organization as teams increase their reliance on using the Design System to create AI experiences at scale. Drive visual, motion, and interaction design initiatives for key AI design system artifacts, delivering both documentation and design assets for our customers to utilize. Expertly create and maintain Figma variables and libraries. Extend the design system’s visual and motion language, designing for emotion at scale and across brands, utilizing industry knowledge, customer insights, and trend analysis to develop innovative experiences that challenge and delight customers. Surface opportunities to enhance processes, deliverables, and customer experience while balancing long-term considerations with the design system's continuous shipping, iteration, and AI product evolution. Collaborate with brand and product/marketing design teams on business requirements, implement design system elements, identify gaps, and champion end-to-end design opportunities for better customer outcomes. Offer support and guidance to teams implementing the Design System across AI use cases via Slack, office hours, and status updates.
Skills:.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in system design, visual design, interaction design, product design, designing AI products or related field
- Mastery of design tools (especially Figma) and design system technology, with a solid understanding of design tokens, theming, and UI components through the lens of visual and motion design
- Practical design systems experience that shows strong ownership of or significant contribution to an existing design system that impacts millions of customers
- Examples of design and development advocacy that led to breakthrough adoption of design system tools, processes, or artifacts
- Understanding designing of mobile products
- Highly collaborative team spirit able to take in multiple points of view, synthesize decisions, and communicate outcomes across the organization
- Artistry and excellence in simplifying complex ideas, identifying risks and dependencies, and delivering for customers within the constraints of technology
- Confidence in managing through ambiguity with a track record of creative problem-solving that demonstrates flexibility
- A love for technology and an insatiable curiosity for new tools to solve real problems
