Location Address: Toronto - Hybrid - onsite up to 4x/week

Contract Duration: 6 months, Possibility of extension and FTE

Number of Positions: 1

Schedule Hours: 8:30am-5pm Monday-Friday (or Tue-Sat); standard 37.5 hrs/week (Possible OT)

Story Behind the Need

Business group: Ops - Infrastructure Support

This resource will be providing support to Linux and Unix environment.

Typical Day in Role:

• supporting operating system

• working on various projects for currency upgrades

• working on privileged access

• writing automation scripts (ansible)

• providing production level support

• creating technical documentation

• joining major incident calls and troubleshooting complex incidents related to OS operating systems

• working with support vendors to troubleshoot hardware/operating system issues

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

1) 8+ years of experience as a technical analyst

2) 5+ years of experience working with Solaris OS

3) 5+ years of experience working RHEL (red hat linux)

4) 5+ years of experience working with Veritas Volume Manager and Cluster Server

5) Strong working knowledge of ZFS and disk management using zpool Solaris Volume manager and LVM

Nice-To-Have Skills:

1) ansible automation

2) scripting experience

Education: Post-Secondary degree or diploma in business management/engineering preferred

Best VS. Average Candidate: The ideal candidate would have strong experience as a technical analyst and would have certifications related to the must-have skills. The HM would strongly prefer previous Scotiabank experience.
