Our client is looking for a Sr. Technical BA with strong infrastructure and systems analysis experience to support the design and validation of new Hyper-V SCADA clusters.


Overview:

The successful candidate will be validating the hardware choice and providing the client with a low level design for their new Hyper V SCADA clusters.


Must Have's:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Infrastructure Analyst
  • Experience in SCADA, DCS, or industrial automation systems is a strong asset.
  • Prior experience designing or supporting Hyper-V, VMware, or other virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with hardware validation, data center design, or infrastructure modernization projects.
  • Solid understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with cluster design, high availability, disaster recovery, and storage technologies (SAN/NAS).
  • Knowledge of ICS/SCADA system architecture, redundancy models, and real-time data requirements.
  • Proficiency in Visio, Confluence, JIRA, or similar documentation tools.


Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering & Validation
  • Work with SCADA, OT, and IT stakeholders to gather detailed functional and non-functional requirements for the new Hyper-V SCADA environment.
  • Validate hardware specifications, performance, and redundancy requirements to align with operational and cybersecurity standards.
  • Ensure alignment with Pembina’s enterprise architecture and infrastructure policies.
  • Technical Analysis & Documentation
  • Analyze existing SCADA infrastructure, virtualization strategy, and data center topology.
  • Develop and document the Low-Level Design (LLD) for new Hyper-V clusters, including compute, storage, and networking components.
  • Support evaluation and recommendation of hardware platforms suitable for the SCADA workload.
  • Create detailed technical diagrams, configuration matrices, and integration specifications.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Act as a liaison between technical infrastructure teams, SCADA engineers, and external vendors.
  • Participate in technical review sessions to ensure proposed designs meet performance, security, and compliance expectations.
  • Support procurement and implementation teams with design clarifications and validation testing.
  • Quality Assurance & Governance
  • Ensure documentation and designs adhere to Pembina’s engineering and cybersecurity standards.
  • Support risk and impact assessments for proposed hardware and design choices.
  • Contribute to testing and validation plans for SCADA cluster deployment.
