Our public sector client is seeking a Sr. Specialized IT Consultant, to strategically and tactically implement data pipelines and infrastructure. You will also contribute to the development of the clients Data Strategy. RQ00136

Location: Toronto - Hybrid 2x per week on-site

Duration: Until Nov 2025 (high chance of extension)

Hours: 7.25 per day

Responsibilities:

- Works in partnership with internal customers, advising them on information technology in order to meet their business objectives or overcome problems

- Defines data strategy and provides guidance to improve structure and efficiency of I&IT systems

- Provides subject matter expertise in the field of Information Management & IT technology, in particular, data lake house, pipelines, and analytics

Must Have:

- Acts as the technical advisor/expert on all aspects of data strategy

- Develops processes and procedures for implementing data strategy, integration, and ingestion

- Ensures data architecture and pipelines are built based on standard technology and follow approved patterns, and ensuring high quality, reliability, and performance

- Anticipates and resolves problems to ensure that the deliverables are completed within budget, to the highest quality, meeting or exceeding expectations

- Works with internal clients to define the requirements for data and integrations

- Prepares reports and presentations including options, recommendations, implementation plans, etc.

- Familiar with change-management principles and methodology

- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices

- Continuous improvement mindset

- Public transit domain knowledge

- Rail Operations and Maintenance (O&M) experience
