Sr. PM with File Transfer Migration experience to lead delivery of large-scale legacy platform and application transfer migrations projects for our banking client

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Toronto (Hybrid, 1-2 days in office)

Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager with expertise in File transfer migration to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives. This role is responsible for managing the delivery of large-scale projects involving legacy systems and applications transfer migrations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, stakeholder management, and financial oversight capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of file transfer migration, with intense resource planning and cost negotiations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, application development, QA, and business stakeholders.
• Manage vendor relationships and third-party service providers that may involve in mainframe operations or modernization.

Financial Management:

• Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
• Monitor actuals vs. budget, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure cost control and resource optimization throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide financial updates to senior leadership and contribute to portfolio-level financial planning.

Risk & Compliance:

• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure project milestones are met.
• Ensure compliance with audit, and security standards.

Reporting & Communication:

• Provide regular status updates to executive sponsors and governance committees.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery methodologies and practices.

Must Haves:

• 8+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years focused on infrastructure systems.
• Strong understanding of file transfer technologies
• Advanced level in MS Excel - (will encounter exposures to many raw data sources from Excel)
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
