Sr. Microsoft 365 Security Engineer to implement, manage, and optimize MS Defender solutions

Our valued client is looking for a Sr. Microsoft 365 Security Engineer to implement, manage, and optimize MS Defender solutions.

Tasks include (tasks will be a mix of cloud and on-prem resources):

• Implement, manage, and optimize Microsoft Defender solutions to protect the organization's digital assets working closely with the Information and Security Compliance team
• Implement and Configure Security Tools/Features: Deploy and configure Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, and other related security solutions. Configure Intune for device health/compliance. Secure SharePoint and Teams information sharing
• Security Policy Development: Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices for Microsoft 365 environments
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of processes, configurations, and compliance reports
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure comprehensive security coverage
• Compliance Assessments: Conduct regular compliance assessments using Microsoft Compliance Manager to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies
• Control Implementation: Implement and manage compliance controls within Microsoft 365 environments to mitigate risks and ensure compliance
• Compliance Reporting: Generate and review compliance reports to identify gaps and areas for improvement
• Policy Updates: Regularly update and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory changes and organizational needs
• Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring all compliance documentation is up-to-date and readily available

Deliverables:

• Security Configuration Reports: Detailed reports on the configuration and optimization of Microsoft Defender solutions
• Compliance Reports: Documentation and reports to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Compliance Assessment Reports: Detailed reports from compliance assessments conducted using Microsoft Compliance Manager
• Audit Documentation: Comprehensive documentation to support internal and external audits

Must have:

• Eligible for the client's internal security clearance
• Deep understanding of cyber security principles, Microsoft 365 environments, advanced threat protection mechanisms, and compliance management

Nice to have:

• Experience with Microsoft Defender
