SR Business Intelligence Developer with experience developing data pipelines within the investment industry

Our client is seeking Senior Business Intelligence Developers (5+ years) with Python and Azure Data Stack to develop data pipelines to extract, load, and transform data from various sources into cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes within the investment industry (Remote).

Responsibilities

• Provide support services such as root-cause identification, debugging, training, and consultation for BI and reporting-related concerns.
• Develop data pipelines to extract, load, and transform data from various sources into cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes.
• Collaborate with developers, data architects, and data engineers to design and implement scalable, reliable data products on cloud platforms.
• Work with stakeholders and end-users to design, build, and maintain BI and data development solutions, ensuring data accuracy and clarity across business processes.
• Support transformation efforts by migrating source systems to client's modern data platform.
• Coach teams on best practices for data usage, analytics, and visualizations.
• Assist users in locating the required information for reporting and analysis.
• Monitor and maintain the performance of cloud-based data warehouses and data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and optimize query performance.
• Design and implement data processing workflows optimized for cloud-native environments.
• Work closely with business analysts to understand their requirements and design effective reporting and analytical models.

Must Have

• 5+ years as a Business Intelligence Analyst, ETL Developer or similar
• Strong coding skills in Python (PySpark) and SQL with knowledge of software engineering principles around testing, code reviews, and deployment.
• Hands-on experience with Azure (Databricks) for data processing and analytics.
• Deploying business intelligence solutions using Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines within the finance or preferably the investment industry

Nice to Have

• Experience with DevOps pipelines, continuous integration/delivery, and automated testing (unit, functional, performance).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant field.
• Experience in data modeling and data transformation technologies such as dbt.
• Database architecture, design, implementation, and operations experience.
• Exposure to business intelligence visualization software like Microsoft Power BI, TIBCO Spotfire, Tableau, etc.
