Senior Web Developer to support website design, development, support for a municipal client

Our GTA based, Municipal Government client requires the services of a Senior Web Developer to support website design, development, support (336-24)

6 months contract

Job Responsibilities:

The role will focus on creating digital experiences primarily for the browser, using industry standard technologies and tools. The role provides subject matter expertise and is accountable to keep current with industry standards.

• Development of new features for all properties associated with (Kids/Staff/About the Club) in both French and English

• Enhancement and Maintenance of the website

• Deliver all assigned work by project launch.

• Acts as technical subject matter expert, providing development support, issue resolution and management.

• Maintaining high standards of code quality

• Actively participating in regular team and project meetings

• Proactively identify product risk and mitigation, capacity availability & continuity management.

• Creating and updating technical and support documentation. Provides training to support team members as required.

• Evening, weekend and callback work may be required

MUST HAVE:

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

• Minimum of Seven (7) + years relevant hands-on work experience in a development role - leading, designing and producing web / mobile / enterprise solutions in a professional development environment

Technical Capabilities:

• Proven experience working within relevant web technologies, such as:

o React (JavaScript Library)

o Astro (Static Site Generator)

o Strapi (Content Management System)

o Elastic Search (Search and Analytics Engine)

o PostgreSQL (Relational Database Management System)

o Docker (Platform for running, shipping and running applications in containers)

o HTML5

o CSS

o Javascript

• Demonstrated experience developing and integrating third party Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), such as:

o Google Books API

o MailChimp API

o Medallion API (Survey tool)

o LingoHub API (translation tool)

• Solid grounding in Object Oriented design and development principles

• Demonstrated experience building server-side applications

• Experience using a Unix-like operating system such as Linux and/or Mac OS
