Senior Top Secret Cleared Systems Administrator (15+ years) with extensive experience in Linux/Unix enterprise environments in the Public Sector

Our Public Sector Client is looking for a Senior Top Secret Cleared Systems Administrator (10+ years) with extensive experience in Linux/Unix enterprise environments to support operations, security, monitoring, documentation, and lifecycle management of Enterprise Level Hardware Systems running Linux/Unix.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced, senior-level Linux/Unix systems administration including performance tuning, monitoring, backup/recovery, automation, and client support.
  • Install, configure, and maintain enterprise-level hardware systems and associated software.
  • Develop and implement system security procedures and disaster recovery plans.
  • Monitor server statuses (availability, alarms, resource usage) and proactively address issues.
  • Provide expert-level guidance to programmers and analysts on system usage and best practices.
  • Participate in planning, deployment, and lifecycle management of IT infrastructure.
  • Document operational procedures using MS Office or Confluence.
  • Mentor and transfer knowledge to staff.
  • Attend regular meetings with the Technical Authority to report on status, risks, and recommendations.
  • Provide regular status reports (monthly) outlining progress, tasks, and decisions.


Must Haves:

  • Federal Government Top Secret Clearance
  • Degree/Diploma in a related IT field
  • 10+ Years working as a Systems Administrator in a secure enterprise environment performing installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and support activities in a Linux/Unix Enterprise Level environment.


Nice to Haves:

  • 10+ Years experience working as a Systems Administrator in a secure enterprise environment performing installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and support activities.
  • 10+ Years experience managing enterprise-level hardware systems within a secure, production environment and securing Linux/Unix operating systems through patching, hardening, and implementing OS-level security measures.
  • 10+ Years experience supporting disaster recovery processes, including data backup and restoration activities, as well as writing operational and security procedures, as well as creating technical documentation.
  • 10+ Years experience performing system patching, performance tuning, capacity planning, and hardening in enterprise environments.
