Senior Technical Architect to support the development of a minimum viable product (MVP) for hospital data reporting for a healthcare client

Our valued healthcare client is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to support the development of a minimum viable product (MVP) for hospital data reporting!


Part-time, initial 8-month contract (100% Remote), with possibility of extension. Estimated workload of approximately 20 hours per week.


As the successful candidate, you will be working alongside an internal team composed of a program lead, analyst, business systems analyst, application architect, and software development staff. You will provide thought leadership, direction, and hands-on expertise in the analysis, design, and drive the implementation of the MVP technical solution.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction for the overall architecture of MVP and supporting technologies including data management platforms, data access, and data storage.
  • Provide architectural direction for the MVP and required architectural artifacts such as logical and physical architecture.
  • Provide technical leadership to the MVP software development team.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure the solution is aligned with business requirements.
  • Participate in development and execution of assessments to gather the necessary insight from the jurisdictions.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend technologies for the solution.
  • Provide strategic input into the evolution of data access, management, and exchange.
  • Provide oral and written briefings throughout the project to appraise the Project Manager and management team as to the status of activities, challenges and project risks.
  • Prepare a technical and security assessment of data access, data management, and data storage requirements
  • Design and build a working solution for the MVP
  • Prepare an evaluation of the MVP, including a technical section of Summary and Recommendations Report, including: technical results of MVP, lessons learned, recommendations for data access and exchange, privacy and security, and opportunities for further expansion


Required Skills:

  • Experience as a Technical Architect or Technical Lead in at least two, multi-million dollar custom software engineering projects with a healthcare data intensive focus, from solution inception to implementation.
  • Proven experience with healthcare system data integration or data exchange projects involving multiple jurisdictions and healthcare data providers.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with architecture modelling tools such as Enterprise Architect, Erwin
  • Proven experience with system integrations using different integration paradigms
  • Solid exposure to AWS technologies and services

  • AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty
  • AWS Certified Developer Professional
  • Experience with data exchange standards (HL7 v2, v3 RIM, CDA or FHIR)
  • Experience with OMOP data standard and implementation
