Job Description:

As a Senior Solutions Architect in Enterprise Solution Design, you will join the Technology department responsible for the delivery of technology in support of all businesses and customers. Directly aligns to the businesses, with a technology team for each business. Delivers world class solutions in support of business strategies, through a combination of in-house systems development and working with leading technology partners. This group also manages core computing facilities, telecommunications and networks globally.

Technology Operations: responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Technology organization, focusing on an integrated approach to operations, service delivery, planning and processes. TO is also responsible for enterprise services such as email, Telecom, Disaster Recovery, Network Servers, Availability, Change Management and partnership with providers. In conjunction with other members of the Solution Design team, the purpose of this position is to work with key Business & Technology Partners to deliver infrastructure design and implementation for Technology Operations (TO) and Application Development (AD) projects.

These designs include platform selection and sizing, data management design, Disaster Recovery solutions, high availability design, migration approach and other Infrastructure requirements. Additionally, the job entails working in partnership with various architecture groups, Platform Managers, Information Security and Risk management, and Engineering teams to design Infrastructure solutions that meet required standards.

During project implementations, the Solutions Architect will work alongside the Project Manager to support design issues. This will include assisting in the integration of distinct products to form the infrastructure in which an application will be installed on. To be successful, the Solutions Architect will serve as a focal point for escalations on major technical issues within the Engineering teams, Global Command Centre, Solution Centre, Application & Infrastructure Support, Product and Service Vendors, and Application Development.

Finally, this position also includes the review and creation of proposals in support of business requirements as well as providing infrastructure cost and design estimates and consultation as it relates to application integration.

• Infrastructure Design: You’ll provide the infrastructure design viewpoint in relation to the Enterprise in selecting technologies to facilitate service integration activities. You’ll design solutions that include platform selection and sizing, data management design, disaster recovery, high availability design, migration approach and other infrastructure requirements. You’ll analyze processes, projects and technical risk, and estimate project work effort where new technology is involved and where no guidelines may already exist.
• Design & Develop: You’ll build a solution design that reflects the integration of business logic, processes, and data mapped to defined business requirements. You will help guide the Solution Delivery Team in the implementation of the infrastructure solution design and in conjunction with other Solution Design team members, you’ll work with key business and Technology partners to deliver infrastructure design and implementation for Technology Operations (TO) and Application Development (AD) projects.

Must have skills:

1. Experience in Solution designing - 10 years

2. Experience with Cloud Azure - 5+ years

3. Unix - Solaris and Redhat Linux experience - 5 years

4. System management experience - 5 years

5. Experience with Network, hardware, Storage and system utilities - 3+ years

6. J2ee and .net experience - 3+ years

Nice to have:

1. Banking Experience

2. Cognos, SAS, and Informatica

3. AI Certification

Best vs average candidate: at least 10 years of solutions design experience, experience with writing solutions, cloud azure experience, migration experience, someone who understands the infrastructure, understands the requirements, banking experience or experience in large enterprises, ability to work with multiple stakeholders, knowledge of estimating/costing. Service now will be an asset, knowledge within AI space, SAS and cognos experience will be an asset.
