Senior Solution Architect to secure systems, design resilient infrastructure, and roadmap cloud recovery solutions

Our Oil & Gas industry enterprise client is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to secure systems, design resilient infrastructure, and roadmap cloud recovery solutions.

This is an initial 6-month contract with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be based in Calgary and agreeable to working full-time onsite, downtown Calgary.

Must-Haves:

• 7+ years' of experience as a Solution Architect
• 3+ years' of experience working in Cloud Optimization or Cloud Transformation projects
• 5+ years' combined experience supporting and designing core IT services, including IAM, Cybersecurity, and Network

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience working in large, enterprise BC/DR (Business Continuity/ Disaster Recovery) programs
• Oil and Gas industry experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed solution design documents for foundational IT systems and services
• Develop detailed solution design documents for critical business applications
• Ensure designs consider both functional and non-functional requirements
• Investigate and make recommendations on specific tools and technologies required to support the solution designs
• Identify gaps in current state technologies and their ability to achieve the required level of Business Continuity
• Provide recommendations to close identified gaps
• Work with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Network and Security teams to review, refine and approve the Foundational IT component designs
• Work with Application Support and Business teams to review, refine and approve the solution designs for critical applications
• Oversee the implementation of the solutions, ensuring they meet design specifications and pass architectural test cases
