Senior Python Developer to support our client in the Investment Management Industry

Duration: 6 months contract

Office: Toronto, ON

Hybrid: 3-4 Days/Week

Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week

What will they accomplish on a high level?

• Team has two work streams and the candidate hired would be dedicated to either of the following:
• New application they are building out for the firm
• Enhancement of existing portfolio management system

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Standard scrum events
• Manage timelines/deliverables within the team
• Design software solutions by coordinating with portfolio managers, traders, operations staff, and peers to understand requirements
• Develop solutions that align with clients' technology biases, delivery efficiency/scalability, and enable new trading activities
• Responsible for L1 and L3 support
• There is support rotation on a bi-weekly basis (once day every two weeks) where the developer is on pager duty from 8pm-9pm or 9pm-11pm as their portfolio is global and may be sending trades 1 day out of the week

Must-Haves:

• 5+ years of experience with Python covering entire development life cycle
• Solid experience with AWS (2-3 years of experience or any cloud provider)
• Standard knowledge of devops, integration testing, and problem solving
• Experience with any database (Postgres)
