Description
Senior Program Manager, ERP responsible for leading enterprise-wide ERP implementation for our client in the public sector.
Location: Hamilton, ON (2-3 days/week onsite - alternating)
Role: 2 Year Fixed Time Salary
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary interface with the ERP implementation partner, providing strategic oversight and direction.
- Collaborate with senior-level stakeholders from the implementation partner and internal leadership to ensure project success.
- Lead and drive a large cross-functional team, including a Senior Project Manager and other business/IT resources (approx. 60 people involved in the ERP project).
- Oversee project management deliverables across all phases-initiation, phase gating, execution, and closeout-in alignment with corporate PMO standards.
- Manage scheduling, risk logs, decision tracking, and earned value reporting to monitor overall project performance and progress.
- Ensure timely escalation of risks and issues through proper governance processes.
- Report to the Transformation Office and work closely with the Steering Committee and business leaders to align objectives and ensure stakeholder engagement.
Must Haves:
- Proven experience with SAP or Oracle ERP implementations.
- Strong background in procurement, finance, and HR system projects (non-operational, implementation-focused).
- Senior-level project management experience, ideally at the Project Director level or above.
- Demonstrated experience delivering executive-level communications, including presentations to council or senior leadership.
- PMP certification and deep knowledge of PMO governance, methodologies, and reporting requirements.
- Hands-on ERP implementation leadership experience in large, complex environments.
- Ability to operate strategically while managing day-to-day tactical execution.
Nice to Haves:
- University degree in a relevant field.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately.
- Background or strong knowledge in change management.
- Experience in government or municipal environments.
