Senior Program Manager, ERP responsible for leading enterprise-wide ERP implementation for our client in the public sector.

Location: Hamilton, ON (2-3 days/week onsite - alternating)

Role: 2 Year Fixed Time Salary

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary interface with the ERP implementation partner, providing strategic oversight and direction.
  • Collaborate with senior-level stakeholders from the implementation partner and internal leadership to ensure project success.
  • Lead and drive a large cross-functional team, including a Senior Project Manager and other business/IT resources (approx. 60 people involved in the ERP project).
  • Oversee project management deliverables across all phases-initiation, phase gating, execution, and closeout-in alignment with corporate PMO standards.
  • Manage scheduling, risk logs, decision tracking, and earned value reporting to monitor overall project performance and progress.
  • Ensure timely escalation of risks and issues through proper governance processes.
  • Report to the Transformation Office and work closely with the Steering Committee and business leaders to align objectives and ensure stakeholder engagement.

Must Haves:

  • Proven experience with SAP or Oracle ERP implementations.
  • Strong background in procurement, finance, and HR system projects (non-operational, implementation-focused).
  • Senior-level project management experience, ideally at the Project Director level or above.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering executive-level communications, including presentations to council or senior leadership.
  • PMP certification and deep knowledge of PMO governance, methodologies, and reporting requirements.
  • Hands-on ERP implementation leadership experience in large, complex environments.
  • Ability to operate strategically while managing day-to-day tactical execution.

Nice to Haves:

  • University degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Background or strong knowledge in change management.
  • Experience in government or municipal environments.
