Senior proactive AWS–Node.js Automation SME to join a large-scale banking initiative.

We are seeking a highly proactive AWS-Node.js Automation SME to join a large-scale banking initiative at one of the largest financial institutions. The ideal candidate is a go-getter with a strong automation mindset who can assess existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and design scalable automation solutions that accelerate delivery while reducing manual effort.

You will work closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams to streamline workflows, leverage AWS-native services, and build resilient deployment strategies.

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months (likely extension)

Work Mode: Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office downtown Toronto

Hours: Full-time

Must Haves

• Strong Node.js development skills

• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including:

• AWS Lambda

• AWS ECS

• AWS DynamoDB

• Ability to effectively leverage native AWS features to support a variety of operational scenarios

• Robust automation mindset and experience:

• Demonstrated ability to automate manual processes across functional and operational areas

• Capable of designing automation solutions that are adaptable across environments and applications with minimal rework

• Strong algorithmic thinking and problem-solving skills

• Test automation experience

• Deployment strategy expertise, including:

• Practical experience with canary and blue-green deployments

• Ability to design and automate deployment strategies to minimize manual intervention and ensure reliability across environments

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience, preferably with AWS CDK

• DevOps pipeline expertise, with the ability to apply an automation-first approach to infrastructure provisioning and deployment
