Description
ROLE:
The job purpose of a Senior Network Engineer is to design, implement, maintain, and optimize an organization's network infrastructure to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient network operations. This role involves responsibility for network hardware and software configuration, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and applying security measures to protect the network from threats. Additionally, Senior Network Engineers collaborate with network architects, lead and mentor junior engineers, manage escalated support issues, and ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational goals. They play a critical role in maintaining network reliability, minimizing downtime, and continuously improving network capabilities through staying updated on the latest technologies and best practices.
MUST HAVE:
- University Degree/College Diploma in an Information Technology discipline and a minimum 7+ years’ experience in an IT technical role with at least 5+ years focusing on computer networking
- Senior technical knowledge of enterprise network architecture including LAN/WAN/SDWAN/VPN.
- 5 Years experience working with Cisco/Nexus hardware.
- 2-3 Years experience managing DNAC, AireOS and Cisco 9800 WLCs policies, Access Points and configuration.
- 2-3 Years experience with Cisco ISE, NAD, Guest, Tacacs policy management.
- 2-3 Years experience with Cisco FTD/ASA configuration and troubleshooting.
- 2-3 Years experience with F5 BIG-IP, Load balancers, WAF/Application Security Policies.
- 1-2 Years with SD-WAN and BGP (iBGP/eBGP) experience.
- 5 Years experience with Checkpoint/Fortinet/Palo Alto firewalls, managing policies/objects/decryption and troubleshooting network traffic.
- Experience architecting and managing network segregation, VLAN configurations, and trunking with a demonstrated ability to optimize and scale the enterprise network
- Experience working with networking tools such as Solarwinds NPM and alerting, netflow, nMAP, Visio..etc.
- Willing and able to work on-site as necessary and occasionally travel between branch and head office locations across Canada and in certain US locations
