Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Mainframe COBOL (CICS) Architect to lead peer reviews and create detailed and high level architectural designs for a financial institution
Start is ASAP until Oct 31, 2024.
Work mode is hybrid - Must be on site 2/3days downtown Toronto
Must Haves:
- COBOL (CICS)
- JCL
- Create architectures and designs, conduct peer reviews, and develop target state architectures.
Responsibilities:
- Creation of High and Detail level designs for COBOL, JCL, and CICS
- Create architectures and designs, conduct peer reviews, and develop target state architectures.
- Help the team to work together in an agile fashion, to jointly own the solution, and to interface well with other parts of the organization.
- To maintain product roadmaps which includes both modernization and leveraging cloud solutions, product technical debt, and mentorship.
- Applies knowledge of programming techniques to mentor developers and review code when required.
- Create, test, document and troubleshoot new and existing APIs working with architects, application developers, networking architects, and infrastructure teams.
- Provides specifications, using flowcharts
