Location: Hybrid (Toronto or Waterloo Office)

Hybrid - 3 days

Contract Duration: 1 year (Possibility of Extension)

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer who is passionate about delivering value and leading transformative initiatives. This role will play a key part in modernizing our legacy mortgage application system through the integration of a third-party vendor solution with our core banking system. Position Responsibilities:

• Lead the integration of a third-party vendor solution into our core banking system, ensuring seamless and efficient functionality.

• Apply creative problem-solving skills to bring software designs to life, focusing on delivering high-quality, maintainable solutions.

• Design, code, unit test, and integrate new features and functionalities as defined by product partners and team.

• Promote and apply agile (SAFe) principles and methodologies to facilitate efficient development processes.

• Contribute to the development of automated tests to ensure high-quality code delivery.

• Track and update progress using Jira and Kanban boards, maintaining clear and transparent communication.

• Perform investigative "spikes" to mitigate technical uncertainty and risk.

• Assist with required documentation, including deployment, maintenance, support, and business needs.

• Provide production support and assist with releases as needed.

Required Qualifications:

1. 10+ years of experience in Full Stack development.

2. Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot), NodeJS, Typescript, and React.

3. Experience deploying services on Azure AKS.

4. Strong understanding of RESTful services and APIs.

5. Familiarity with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Core Spring frameworks.

6. Competence in SQL for database interactions.

7. Experience using GitHub for source control.

8. Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for task and content management.

9. Experience with Jenkins, Maven, Snyk, and SonarQube for DevOps pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience participating in ideation and brainstorming sessions to devise innovative digital solutions.

2. Ability to assist product partners in refining product backlogs, providing initial estimates.

3. Experience mentoring other developers and fostering skill development.

4. Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with engineering managers, product partners, quality engineers, and analysts in a globally distributed environment.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in technical fields such as computer science, computer engineering or equivalent work experience
