Senior Fullstack Developer to enhance observability, monitoring and performance for a Number of Financial Applications - 36315752 (Fully remote)

The Platform and Development Xceleration Group at our client is seeking a skilled Full Stack Contract Engineer to enhance observability, monitoring, and performance for our Interview Service, Dynamic Graphlet Service, and Player applications.

**This is a fully-remote role**

These core components serve as building blocks for TurboTax and other offerings, making them mission-critical for delivering high-performance, scalable, and reliable user experiences. This role focuses on embedding observability into the front-end (ReactJS), native mobile (Swift/Kotlin), and backend (Java/Kotlin) layers of our applications. Through the adoption of our client's paved-road solutions for observability, monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing, you will help drive high availability, optimized performance, and proactive issue detection for these systems. Your contributions will directly improve system visibility, operational uptime, and user experience for millions of customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full-Stack Observability Implementation:
• Build and enhance end-to-end observability across front-end (ReactJS), mobile (Swift/Kotlin), and backend services (Java/Kotlin).
• Implement our client's paved-road observability solutions, including Opentelemetry, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana, to create a seamless view of system health. \
• Leverage distributed tracing for end-to-end visibility across components and user workflows.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
• Analyze application and system telemetry to detect performance bottlenecks and optimize code performance for low latency and high throughput.
• Conduct load testing, stress testing, and performance benchmarking to ensure the system meets high
• Monitoring & Alerting:
• Leverage existing pave-road monitoring dashboards and alerting mechanisms for proactive detection of anomalies, errors, and potential incidents.
• Collaborative Engineering: Partner with senior engineers, site reliability engineers (SREs), and platform architects to align observability initiatives with team's paved-road solutions.
• Work with developers across all layers to promote observability and performance as first-class priorities in feature development. Share observability and performance best practices while helping teams adoptour client's platform solutions effectively.
• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Create detailed documentation, playbooks, and runbooks for observability systems and performance tuning strategies. Provide knowledge transfer and training to other engineers on using observability tools and interpreting telemetry data.

Must Have Skills:

• Technical Expertise Across Full Stack:
• 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack development across backend (Java/Kotlin), front-end (ReactJS), and mobile (Swift/Kotlin).
• Proven ability to optimize system performance and build resilient systems for high-traffic applications.
• Practical experience with observability tooling such as Datadog, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Hands-on experience with distributed tracing solutions for instrumenting backend and front-end systems.
• Strong background in managing logs, metrics, and application health checks across the stack.
• Expertise in analyzing and improving performance for high-demand systems, including backend services, front-end rendering, and native apps.
