Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Digital Architect with experiencing leading enterprise modernization projects in public sector with deep knowledge of zero-trust principles and working within a cloud/hybrid environment. (625)
This is a remote role that must be worked in Canada.
Must Haves:
- 5+ years leading cross-functional agile product teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring developers and technical leads.
- 5+ years as a software architect delivering enterprise-scale solutions in complex organizational environments using modern development stacks.
- 2+ years working with teams applying UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design methodologies.
- 4+ years defining and communicating solution architecture, including integrations, modernization strategies, and cloud-native patterns.
- 5+ years demonstrating strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (equivalencies will be considered).
A combination of the following skills is required:
- 4+ years' experience applying secure development practices and managing identity and access using role-based or attribute-based access control and Zero Trust Architecture principle.
- 5+ years designing and implementing modern web applications using responsive and accessible front-end development using modern UI frameworks
- 4+ years designing and managing APIs (RESTful services, system integrations).
- 2+ years implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, deployment, and observability.
- 5+ years modernizing legacy systems into digital services across multiple releases.
- 2+ years with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code in cloud/hybrid environments.
- 4+ years designing distributed systems (event-driven architecture, microservices, domain-driven design).
- 5+ years working with both relational and non-relational databases (including schema design, performance optimization).
- 2+ years working within public sector digital service frameworks or enterprise architecture standards.
- 4+ years working with other architects and/or as part of cross-functional teams to identify efficiencies through common services, reusable components and application programming interfaces (APIs), and contribute to the overall architecture practice designing and implementing application programming interfaces (APIs) and system integrations.
The client is hiring up to 10 qualified candidates based on an assessment of relevant skills, assignment highlights (to be completed as part of submission) and interviews.
Scope of Services
Services and project deliverables should evolve as the work progresses, in response to emerging user and business needs, as well as design and technical opportunities.
However, the following must be delivered (iteratively) over the course of the project:
• Lead the solution architecture of digital services by:
o Developing the overall architectural plan, ensuring a citizen-centered design and agile software approach;
o Uncovering existing system context;
o Providing recommendations and prototypes for technical discovery and feasibility;
o Providing and being accountable for the solution designs that account for iterative implementation; and
o Analyzing impacts, exposure, and risk as it pertains to the solution design.
• Guide the team in the implementation of digital services by:
o Facilitating frequent delivery of products to ensure that the target architecture is successfully created;
o Determining the tactical approach on each integration and the target state of system boundaries and interactions;
o Identifying opportunities to leverage common components and capabilities of other digital services;
o Encouraging team contribution towards developing opportunities to leverage other digital services;
o Providing guidance on the creation of detailed designs for solution implementation;
o Reviewing code changes;
o Contributing to code changes in order to implement user stories and to complete technical tasks; and
o Providing coaching and mentorship to the product team.
• Contribute to the architectural vision for a platform of user-centric services, particularly as it relates to the use of common components and capabilities to accelerate service delivery.
• Contribute to the development of principles, metrics, and standards for service quality and delivery.
• Provide software architecture information to technical and non-technical audiences by creating materials (documents, diagrams, presentations, etc.) appropriate to the audience.
