Full Time Role

3 times a week on site in Downtown Toronto (King Station)

The role may include occasional international travel to other client locations and involves leading the implementation of a global design system, collaborating with design, product, and development teams to ensure consistency and governance across platforms. Reporting to the Design Director, you’ll work closely with business stakeholders and technical groups. The position offers a competitive salary and 20 vacation days.

Must Haves:

People Management

• Experience leading and mentoring a team of UI/UX designers (up to 3 designers)
• Managing project delivery in collaboration with Product Owners, Developers, PMs, and cross-functional stakeholders
• Leading design system governance and ensuring consistency across teams and products

Hands-On Experience

• Deep expertise in Figma for UI/UX design, prototyping, and component libraries
• 5+ years of experience in digital product design or systems design as an individual contributor

Driving Delivery

• 2+ years of leading and maintain a design system
• Proven track record in delivering digital design aligned with business goals
• Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, user-centered design delivery

Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation of a new Design System for client’s customer and employee facing digital experiences
• Become an authority on client's design language, setting standards for our design system and how systems thinking is embedded within client's design practice
• Lead designer for scalable, re-usable front-end UI components that will be shared across the client's ecosystem
• Incorporate input from the Creative Director on the atheistic direction, and style guide for the Design System
• Create, define, and maintain the governance model and documentation for the Design System
• Create, design, test and document UI components, experience patterns, and design tokens
• Consult various design engagements to ensure consistency across various experiences
• Liaison with design system champions across all regions to ensure adoption, growth an compliance
• Collaborate with CX, Product, and Platform Managers to align design system updates with feature needs
• Engage in supporting a design pod and support various designers in the creative process to ensure that you have a connection to the products that are being built/designed for
