Description
Our valued healthcare client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to create and optimize Python / Pyspark code migrated from SAS!
Initial 4 month contract, with possibility of renewal. 100% remote. 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for participating in the transformational project to move code that was built with SAS to an open-source analytical environment using Python and PySpark.
Responsibilities
- Create Python/PySpark code for quality indicators and data quality reports.
- Code from pseudo code and/or existing SAS code.
- Further automate existing Python/PySpark code to gain operational efficiencies.
Must-Have
- 5+ years of experience with Python & PySpark
- 5+ years of experience working with SAS programming and Macros
- 5+ years of experience Apache Parquet and Apache Spark
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated experience working with Polars, Pandas, or similar Python frameworks/libraries for working with big data
- Demonstrated experience working with AWS Redshift
- Demonstrated experience deploying code through CI/CD pipelines such as Gitlab
- Demonstrated experience working with DuckDB
