Our customer is looking for a Senior Data Architect to establish the architectural and governance frameworks that will guide how data is defined, managed, and leveraged across our customers organization.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field
  • Microsoft Azure, CDMA, TOGAF or ITIL certifications
  • 10 years of experience in data architecture, data governance, or enterprise data management roles


Architecture & Design

  • Design and document enterprise-level data models, data flows, and integration patterns to support operational and analytical needs.
  • Develop technical specifications and architectural designs for data storage, processing, and access across distributed systems.
  • Ensure data architecture supports scalability, performance optimization, and interoperability across platforms.
  • Define and enforce architectural standards and best practices for data modeling, transformation, and consumption.
  • Provide architectural guidance to other members of the IT organization, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
  • Lead architectural reviews and design sessions to ensure consistency and quality across data initiatives.

Governance & Stewardship

  • Establish and operationalize a data governance framework, including policies, roles, and processes for data quality and lifecycle management.
  • Define and implement data stewardship models with clear accountability for data ownership and maintenance.
  • Develop and enforce data access controls, encryption, and masking policies to ensure data privacy and security.
  • Collaborate with infosec, privacy and legal teams to align governance practices with applicable regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Create and maintain metadata standards, classification schemes, and retention policies to support discoverability and responsible data use.


Required Skills


  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing data models, governance frameworks, and architectural standards in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical), metadata management, and data lifecycle practices.
  • Experience designing data architectures that support both operational and analytical workloads.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft data technologies, including data modeling and integration within the Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., SQL Server, Power BI, Microsoft Purview).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure (e.g., data lakes, data factories, storage, and analytics services).
  • Knowledge of data security and privacy practices, including encryption, masking, and role-based access control.
  • Familiarity with data integration and orchestration tools, preferably within Microsoft or comparable cloud environments.
