Our client is seeking a permanent Senior Capital and Project Accountant to take ownership of capital project tracking and accounting, while also supporting operating project accounting.

Permanent Position - Remote (Alberta-based candidates only)

Breakdown of Responsibilities:

• Capital Accounting 50%
• Project Accounting 25%
• Other Duties 25%

Must Have:

• 5+ years' of senior-level accounting experience
• CPA designation in good standing
• Ability to create reports, charts, and data visualization from complex financial information
• Ability to engage stakeholders at various levels, including senior leadership
• Excellent analytical skills with a proactive approach to providing recommendations and implementing improvements using sound professional judgment
• Able to work independently and collaboratively, supporting multiple budget units and stakeholders

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS)
• Knowledge of Canadian GAAP
• Background in accounting for capital projects, contracts, restricted funds, and conditional grants
• Stong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills
• Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP
