Title: Senior Business Analyst

Location: 100 Adelaide St W, Toronto (Hybrid - 4 days/week onsite)

Contract Length: 12 Months

Target Start: End of March

Interview Process: One in‑person interview (March 16-23)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the Program Management & Delivery team supporting Platform Engineering, AI, and Advanced Analytics. You will play a key role in delivering the products, platforms, and capabilities that allow Investment teams to analyze investment opportunities, make decisions, and optimize the portfolio. The team requires a strong BA capable of operating independently with minimal oversight. You will collaborate closely with Capital Markets, Private Equity, Infrastructure, Growth Equity, Ventures, Finance, and Risk & Compliance teams, as well as data engineers, Power BI developers, data scientists, and enterprise technology partners. You will support large-scale transformational initiatives, day‑to‑day project delivery, and priority workstreams and other capital/ private markets projects.

Must‑Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst working with complex, interconnected systems.
  • Ability to independently manage projects with minimal oversight.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with business + technical teams.
  • Ability to gather, translate, and document requirements in multiple formats.
  • Experience working on large programs or multi‑workstream environments.
  • Strong understanding of process analysis and systems analysis.
  • Ability to run workshops, design sessions, and stakeholder reviews.
  • Foundational knowledge of financial services or capital markets.
  • Experience supporting investment, private markets, or capital markets initiatives preferred.
  • Comfortable analyzing data, system interactions, and integration patterns.
  • Ability to develop test plans and execute UAT/performance testing.

Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications

  • Exposure to AI initiatives, models, or language models.
  • Experience working with data scientists or data engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of investment systems (Capital Markets, Private Markets, etc.).
  • CBAP certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Experience using Power BI or supporting analytics-driven platforms.
  • Experience within pension funds, asset management, or large financial institutions.
  • Strong relationship-building track record across business units.

What You Will Do

Technical Responsibilities

  • Document existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.
  • Analyze current systems’ functionality, data, and integrations across the enterprise ecosystem.
  • Develop detailed product requirements using user stories, use cases, data flow diagrams, and requirements documentation.
  • Lead design review sessions to ensure clarity of requirements for development teams.
  • Investigate issues, evaluate solution options, and provide recommendations.
  • Define and execute business test plans, including performance and integration testing.
  • Support automated regression testing efforts.
  • Engage with Power BI devs, data scientists, and investment teams for research, integrations, and technical support.

Organizational & Delivery Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Manager and Delivery team to meet milestones and roadmap goals.
  • Work independently on initiatives that may not have dedicated Project Managers.
  • Operate within a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment.
  • Communicate effectively across product managers, analysts, data engineers, infrastructure, security teams, architects, and senior leadership.
  • Lead change impact assessments and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and delivery execution.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently (typically 2-3 active initiatives).
  • Serve as a liaison between business and technical teams.
  • May act as project manager on small initiatives.
