Senior AI/Automation Specialist to support cybersecurity projects with client in the public sector

Location: Hamilton, ON

Onsite 2 days/week - Tues/Wed MANDATORY - the schedule will alternate between two days onsite, then three days, and back to two days, and so on.

Hours: 35/Week

Contract: 4+ months + extension
Day‑to‑Day (D2D)
  • Design, build, and maintain AI agents, automation workflows, and reporting solutions under defined guidance
  • Develop and support automations using Power Automate, SharePoint workflows, and other low‑code tools
  • Configure and deploy AI agents to support business processes, including prompting, orchestration, and integrations
  • Build dashboards and analytics in Power BI; write SQL queries to support reporting and automation triggers
  • Support assessment and rationalization of existing AI, automation, and analytics tools against defined standards
  • Collaborate with business, IT, data, and security teams to implement approved AI and automation use cases
  • Apply established AI security, governance, and responsible AI standards within solutions
  • Troubleshoot, enhance, or remediate underperforming AI and automation solutions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, workflows, and knowledge transfer materials
  • Provide targeted execution support on AI strategy, governance, or readiness initiatives as assigned
Must‑Have Qualifications
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint automation
  • Experience developing and deploying AI agents or intelligent automation solutions
  • Solid SQL skills for data analysis, reporting, and automation support
  • Experience working with AI/automation tooling, orchestration frameworks, or small language models
  • Familiarity with AI security, governance, and compliance requirements
  • Experience evaluating tools or solutions against defined standards or architectures
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working with both business and technical stakeholders
  • Ability to execute effectively while supporting broader strategic objectives
Nice‑to‑Haves / Plusses
  • Experience in public‑sector, regulated, or large enterprise environments
  • Experience with low‑code / no‑code platforms beyond the Microsoft stack
  • Background in data engineering or automated data pipelines
  • Experience supporting or enhancing vendor‑ or consultant‑delivered solutions
  • Familiarity with responsible AI principles and model lifecycle stages
  • Experience contributing to AI pilots, proofs of concept, or quick‑win automations
