Job Description:


The Release Coordinator acts as a liaison between IT Change Management, IT Release Management, Project Management Office (PMO) and the Delivery teams for the coordination of all software changes delivery activities, from intake to deployment.

Accountabilities

  • Ensures that all changes that being delivered to Production meet the client's delivery framework gating requirements, follow the standard IT Change Management procedure, and are implemented with no interruptions to the business processes.
  • Works closely with PMO, Release Management, Development, QE and Business groups to define, document, and communicate release scope and content for every release throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Manages risks and resolves issues that affect the release scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Oversees the production deployments and escalates any issues that arise to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Leads post-release reviews.
  • Ensures predictable, consistent and successful delivery of software releases by defining success criteria upfront to promote alignment, and actively manage the project outcomes.
  • Collaborates with the Product Owners to capture the business value of the project deliverables included in each release, and align these values with the corporate values and goals.
  • Provides variety of reports related to releases.


Minimum Qualifications

  • University or College Degree or equivalent IT experience
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • 3-5 years of experience coordinating software development releases
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of the project management practices, disciplines, tools, and methodologies (Agile and Waterfall)
  • 3+ years of end user experience with Jira and Confluence
  • 3+ years of end user experience with ITSM tools such as, ServiceNow or Remedy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio and MS Project)
  • Experience with industry best practices standards (ITIL, PMP, Agile, DevOps, CMMI and others)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous exposure to the banking industry/financial services
  • Understanding of tools required to automate the CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins, GitHub, Confluence, Artifactory, Docker Containers, and Slack).
  • Competent in enterprise application delivery and design techniques, including release and source code branching strategies
  • Proficient knowledge of technologies and processes like Agile Software Delivery, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, DevOps, GitHub, Cloud Native Technologies including Docker Containers and Kubernetes, and Deployment Automation & Orchestration.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate on a broad spectrum (from deep technical discussions to high-level executive vision)

  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives
  • Excellent documentation skills
