Lead Java Developer - RQ01866

Duration: 1 year (possibility of extension)

Location: Downtown Toronto(onsite 4 days per week)

Leads a team of resources and coordinates work activities in the delivery of specific accountabilities. Accountabilities may be technical or non-technical in nature (e.g. programming, technical support, training, testing). Work is typically directed by a project manager or functional IT manager.

Deliverables:

• Lead the development team in building scalable, secure APIs using Spring Boot and related technologies.
• Ensure adherence to development standards, coding practices, and architectural guidelines.
• Provide technical direction, mentorship, and support to developers throughout the SDLC.
• Collaborate with architects, delivery leads, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with strategic goals.
• Act as the primary escalation point for development-related issues and blockers.
• Participate in solution design, code reviews, and performance tuning.
• Drive quality through automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment best practices.
• Support documentation, knowledge transfer, and production readiness activities.
• Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple technical domains and contribute to cross-functional collaboration and innovation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience as a Developer
• Must have Java, Spring Boot, Ping coding experiences as a Full Stack Developer
• Expert technical knowledge and experience in network infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience leading technology teams and coordinating work activities in the delivery of specific technical and non-technical accountabilities, e.g. programming, technical support, training, testing
• Undergraduate degree or Professional Certification in relevant areas
• Financial/ banking industry experience would be considered an asset
