Our client is looking for a Jr. Website Editor to augment the web team within the Business, Innovation and Communications department for Public Sector


Overview:

The successful candidate’s primary responsibility is to provide testing and training support for a content management system (CMS) upgrade to specified client websites. Other website related tasks and duties may be assigned, as needed.


Must Have's:

· 2+ years of experience and basic understanding of website content administration - CMS (not web development), experience using Microsoft Office products (including SharePoint). Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with the Django content management system.

· Experience working with staging and production environments, as well as testing database systems such as Spiratest

· Minimum five years' experience with basic HTML knowledge to perform quality control.

· Basic/minimal technical ability (Desktop publishing) considered an asset

· Experience and understanding of search engine optimization.

· Understanding of web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG)

· Strong technical aspects of writing for the web, such as grammar, punctuation and sentence structure.

· Experience with basic photo editing


Responsibilities:

Procure a website editor that will work under the guidance of web team to:

· Test configuration and/or development that is deployed to meet requirements (Quality Assurance)

· Assist with user acceptance testing of specified websites as part of the CMS upgrade

· Assist in the education, training, support and communication materials for website editors

· Provide client support for user testing and solutions

· Perform and document testing results

· Take direction from web team to assist with other duties, as needed. Duties may include broken link reports, QR code/short URL generation, analytics, webpage (internal and external) set up, review and publishing.

This website editor should be:

· Highly proficient in writing project related documentation ranging from testing requirements and results, to assisting with training and trouble-shooting

· User focused and user experience principles

· Comfortable working within a team structure

· Comfortable and confident with coordinating and engaging key audiences within short timeframes

· Organized and able to effectively manage time and multiple priorities
