Intermediate Business Analyst to roll out Next Generation Network for branches in large financial bank - 38812
Location Address: Hybrid - 3-4 days onsite may be required based on business needs - Scarborough
Looking for candidates across Canada / different time zones as it will help with the different branch migrations so please widen your search and present candidates from different areas; for candidates in GTA there may be needs to come into office, TBD and team is flexible
Contract Duration: Jan to 10/30/2026 - approx. 10 months, possibility of extension & conversion to FTE
Number of Positions: 4
Schedule Hours: 37.5 hrs/week - different work schedules based on deployment schedules - can be an earlier or a later day some evening/night shifts needed, so need contractors need to be flexible - possible OT required for longer migrations
Story Behind the Need
Business group: Client Engineering - Commerce Engineering - Team looks after Branch technology
Project: A contingent support team is required for the national roll-out of the Next Generation Network (NGN) for branches.
Pilot completed; commencing national roll-out to all retail branches and collocated Wealth sites.
SD-WAN upgrade: NGN2 ? NGN3 to improve bandwidth, connectivity, and voice services.
Transition from physical phones to WebEx voice solution.
Responsibilities include determining floor plan layouts, assigning seating, setting up extensions, and creating employee profiles for WebEx registration.
BA support team is critical to ensuring smooth implementation, minimizing disruption, and enhancing branch user experience.
Typical Day in Role:
• Review and update branch floor plans; create station review documents in Excel, highlighting specific locations and sending to branches for validation.
• Coordinate and facilitate calls with branch contacts, Bell team, and internal BNS teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Act as Point of Contact (POC) during migration events (including evenings), ensuring smooth communication between branch and project teams for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Prepare and execute pre-migration, migration, installation, and post-migration tasks.
• Clearly explain project communications and technical changes to non-technical branch contacts in plain language.
• Track employee information, create user profiles, and ensure successful WebEx registration.
• Support branch staff during removal of physical phones and transition to WebEx voice solution.
• Monitor migration progress, escalate issues promptly, and document resolutions.
• Migration events can take 4-6 hours, requiring pre-work, communication, and post-migration support.
• Ensure migration communications (timelines, instructions, FAQs) are sent to branches ahead of scheduled events.
• Validate connectivity and voice services post-migration and confirm branch readiness.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
2) Proficiency in Excel for documentation and reporting
3) Experience with infrastructure, networking, and voice services
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Previous Branch experience or First Line support to branches
2) Bilingual English and French
Education:
No specifics - work experience will be prioritized
Best VS. Average Candidate:
1-2 of the 4 roles needs to be French - English Bilingual to work with Quebec/French provinces
The role supports non-technical users, so soft skills are very important in this role - it is not just about actioning the work but working with the branch contacts in a friendly and approachable manner to be able to get the results needed
Ability to communicate /troubleshoot with Branch users as well as liaise with internal and external technical teams
Being able to articulate and listen to drive the project with minimal hand holding
Able to pull on what users are saying to drill down on the cause of issue and really understand what the challenges are
