The Opportunity: We are looking for a highly skilled and dynamic Business Analyst / Product Owner to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. In this dual role, you'll be instrumental in defining, prioritizing, and delivering IT software products and features that enhance our transit operations, particularly within the public sector and bus services. You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand their challenges, translate those into clear requirements, and guide development teams to deliver valuable solutions that directly impact public transit efficiency and rider experience. Start Date - 2025-09-02

End Date - 2026-03-02

Hours per day - 7.25

Work Mode - Up to 3 days onsite/ 2 days remote Downtown Toronto


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Analysis:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, workflows, and systems within the transit agency, public sector, and bus operations.
  • Gather, analyze, and document comprehensive business requirements, user stories, use cases, and functional specifications through various elicitation techniques (interviews, workshops, surveys, etc.).
  • Perform gap analysis and recommend solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including process flows, data models, and system diagrams.
  • Product Ownership:
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical development teams, representing the voice of the customer and business needs.
  • Define, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and business value.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout the Agile software development lifecycle, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate decision-making and conflict resolution among stakeholders to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
  • Monitor product performance post-launch and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst conducting in-depth analysis of business processes, workflows, and systems within the transit agency, public sector, and bus operations.
  • 5+ years gathering, analyzing, and documenting comprehensive business requirements, user stories, use cases, and functional specifications through various elicitation techniques (interviews, workshops, surveys, etc.).
  • 5+ years as a Product Owner defining, prioritizing, and managing the product backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and business value.
  • 5+ years overseeing user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.


Public Sector Experience: Preferred
