Position Title: Event Coordinator Contractor, Event-Based Marketing

Line of Business: Marketing - People Culture & Brand


Hourly Pay Range: $28/- to $38/- per hour


Duration: 24 months (Possibility of conversion to FTE)

Location: Downtown Toronto - Hybrid [2-3 days a week in office, Wed is set day]

Working hours: 9-5


Role Mandate: Under the direction of the Head, Wealth Management & Enterprise Events, this job is accountable for creating and delivering consistently great client experiences through the planning and execution of events, both internal and external, for Financial Group. These events are highly visible and involve interaction with clients as well as senior-level executives. The role has responsibility for managing budgets, logistics, engaging business partners, managing internal and external communications, executing, and tracking and reporting results. Must represent the organization with professionalism, courtesy and integrity.


Role Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Serve as a contact for, and interact with, senior executives and clients as they participate in events and conferences

• Interact with senior executives through briefings and meetings as they participate in events and conferences

• Design and delivery of consistently great client experiences

• Provide guidance and recommendations as well as execution for internal & external conferences and events in support of cross-border groups.

• Develop and obtain required budget and client strategy approvals from executives

• Assist in the development and execution of annual event strategies to meet business objectives

• Prepare briefing materials and coordinate event schedules for senior executives

• Develop and manage event calendars

• Assist in the development and implementation of event tracking mechanisms to assess program effectiveness and alignment with overall strategic goals

• Provide credible advice and support to senior executives during events and internal conferences

• Identify and assess competitor conferences and events

• Selection and oversight of promotional merchandise used at events


Must-Have Skills:

• Minimum 2-3 years work experience in event management, including demonstrated project management

• Strong understanding of strategies and objectives of individual groups across the organization

• Awareness of financial services competitive marketplace and trends,

• Professional polish and ability to interact with very senior executives and clients.

• Team player, motivated and committed, self-starter and quick learner, confident, assertive, strong interpersonal skills

• Flexibility and ability to work in ambiguity and under pressure, as well as handle multiple projects simultaneously and resolve conflicts on site

• Strong communicator

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Solid written communication skills

• Awareness of current affairs

• Coaching, mentoring and development of staff needs

• Ability to effectively manage large, complex budgets

• Demonstrated ability to think strategically

• Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Adobe Acrobat


Nice to Have Skills:

• University Degree

• Event Planning College Certification

• 1st round - Hiring Manager

• 2nd round - panel interview with team

• 3rd round - formal interview with group head
